Moving rooms/moving data service

During the semester, students can easily change their data service if they move to a different room or residence hall. If you have not registered your computer on the ResNet network, please click here to begin the registration process.

If you have already registered your computer, and simply need to move your registration to a new location or room, please follow the steps below.

1. Set up your computer, and plug in ethernet cable from source (either the wall or a switch/hub depending on location) to your computer.
2. Open web browser and go to http://resnet.ku.edu if not automatically redirected. Click on the red Click Here image about halfway down the main ResNet page, and then enter your KU Online ID and password.
3. On the following page, select the device that you want to move. Click the bubble next to the appropriate device, and click continue.
4. On the following page, confirm that you have selected the correct device, and click continue again.
5. Enter any information prompted for, such as your room number and phone number, and click continue. Confirm your information on the next page and click continue. The following page should start with "Congratulations!" at which point you will know that you are registered in your new building.
