IT ResNet Wireless

Information Technology has designed a new secure wireless solution for KU residence halls. It is now available in selected public areas.

The goal is to provide IT ResNet subscribers with wireless connectivity that is as secure as the wired connection in their rooms using WPA2, a security protocol that is supported by most modern wireless network cards.

Connecting to an IT ResNet wireless zone is different than connecting to the KU wireless zones.  Users configure the connection to KU-RESNET on their laptop the first time they want to connect to ResNet wireless.  After that, the device will automatically connect to the network whenever it’s in an IT ResNet wireless zone.  Unlike Jayhawk wireless, it will not be necessary to open a web browser to sign on to the IT ResNet network each time you want to connect.

Who can use IT ResNet Wireless?


Use of the IT ResNet wireless service is limited to those residents who are currently paying for IT ResNet Internet connectivity in their rooms.

IT ResNet staff are available to come to the residence halls in order to assist residents with connection to ResNet wireless. Please talk to your RA or Complex Director and ask them to schedule this with ResNet.
